Refer IQOS
Turning a referral program people ignored into one they actually used
Role
Lead UI/UX Designer

IQOS had a referral program that was live, but the experience made it nearly impossible to understand or share. As lead designer, I owned a two-phase redesign: first, fixing the trust and usability problems with the existing dashboard; then expanding the program with a new user journey, a simpler sharing mechanic, and a visual identity I pushed for and built from scratch. The program went from a forgotten feature to a top-3 visited page on the site, with a 320% lift in engagement in the first 60 days.
The Brief
The brief was minimal: the referral program wasn't performing and something needed to change. Not just to redesign the visuals, but to rebuild the experience in a way that was intuitive to use and polished to reflect the IQOS brand. There wasn't much existing documentation to work from, so that kind of open brief is both a challenge and an opportunity. It meant spending time understanding the existing experience before making any design decisions. My role covered the full design scope: research, wireframing, UI design and handoff to dev team.
